Next meeting of Commission on Preparation for WTO Membership held
The work being done to prepare Azerbaijan for membership in the World Trade Organization (WTO) was discussed.
The next meeting of the Commission on Azerbaijan’s Preparation for Membership in the World Trade Organization (WTO) was held. Representatives from the Ministry of Economy and other relevant institutions involved in the Commission attended the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, Head of the Commission, Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov stated that one of the key goals set by the President of Azerbaijan is to achieve sustainable and resilient economic growth in the modern era, where new challenges are emerging. In this context, expanding access to foreign markets is of particular importance.
The meeting reviewed areas such as the development of competitive local production and expanding export potential. The next steps to be taken in the negotiations within the framework of the WTO accession process were also decided.
