During the meeting with the Regional Director for the Caucasus of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), opportunities for joint activities in infrastructure projects were discussed.

Within the framework of the 1st Azerbaijan International Investment Forum, held in Baku under the patronage of H.E. President Ilham Aliyev, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov met with Alkis Drakinos, EBRD Regional Director for the Caucasus.

At the meeting, it was emphasized that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to cooperation with international financial institutions. In this regard, the successful partnership with the EBRD was highlighted. It was noted that projects implemented with the Bank accelerate the application of advanced practices in line with the country’s sustainable development goals. Information was provided on Azerbaijan’s socio-economic development priorities and ongoing infrastructure projects, while cooperation opportunities to achieve set targets were underlined.

The parties discussed prospects for joint activities in water infrastructure, solid waste management, and other areas.
