Meeting Held with IFC Manager
The application of public–private partnership (PPP) mechanisms with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), as well as opportunities for joint projects in infrastructure and social sectors, were discussed.
Within the framework of the 1st Azerbaijan International Investment Forum, held in Baku under the patronage of H.E. President Ilham Aliyev, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov met with Thomas Lubeck, Regional Manager for PPP Transaction Advisory Services in Europe at the IFC.
The meeting focused on the implementation of PPP mechanisms in Azerbaijan, the execution of joint projects in infrastructure and social sectors, and the role of international financial institutions in these processes.
Measures taken to improve the business environment and attract investment in Azerbaijan were also highlighted. It was noted that the application of PPP models makes an important contribution both to infrastructure development and to expanding private sector participation in the economy.
Azerbaijan’s steps in the field of public–private partnerships were highly appreciated, and discussions were held on IFC’s support mechanisms through technical assistance, financial instruments, and international expertise.
The parties also reviewed opportunities for cooperation in advancing PPP projects, particularly in transport, energy, water management, and social infrastructure sectors.
