Development of economic cooperation with the European Union discussed
At the meeting with the EU Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighbourhood, views were exchanged on investment initiatives, demining, water resource management, support for sustainable development in the field of transport, and other areas.
The Minister of Economy, Mikayil Jabbarov, met with the European Union (EU) Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighbourhood, Ms. Marta Kos.
At the meeting, it was emphasized with satisfaction that the European Union is one of Azerbaijan’s main foreign trade partners and that mutual economic relations are developing. The successful cooperation between the European Union and Azerbaijan in the fields of energy and investments was noted. It was stated that there are great prospects for further developing cooperation in the field of transport.
At the meeting, views were exchanged on the draft financing agreement between Azerbaijan and the European Commission regarding the support project for the sustainable development of the fields of demining, water resources management, and transport.
The parties discussed investment initiatives in the fields of energy, digital economy, transport, private sector, and other areas within the framework of the EU’s new global connectivity strategy, the “Global Gateway” initiative.
