During the business visit of Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov to the Czech Republic, discussions were held on the issues on the agenda of economic partnership.

As part of his business visit to the Czech Republic, Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov met with the country’s Minister of Industry and Trade, Lukáš Vlček. During the meeting, the importance of Azerbaijan-Czech relations was emphasized, along with the role of the Joint Commission on Economic, Scientific-Technical and Cultural Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Czech Republic in expanding the partnership. The significance of mutual visits and ongoing discussions was also highlighted. The sides reviewed opportunities to increase bilateral trade turnover and strengthen cooperation in energy, industry, transport, transit, tourism, and investment within the context of economic collaboration.

At the meeting with the Minister of Transport of the Czech Republic, Martin Kupka, information was provided on Azerbaijan’s socio-economic goals, the measures implemented to achieve them, the results obtained, the country’s favorable business environment, its growing transport and transit potential in light of new realities, and the opportunities created for investors. It was noted that transportation and transit are among the priority areas of economic cooperation with the Czech Republic. The parties exchanged views on transport infrastructure development projects and discussed proposals put forward in the fields of the innovation ecosystem, space industry, and startups.

At the meeting with Petr Cingr, Deputy Chairman of the Czech “Agrofert” company, the importance of efficient activity in the agricultural sector and the transition to sustainable production was emphasized. The opportunities created for foreign investors in Azerbaijan and potential areas of cooperation were highlighted. “Agrofert” was invited to actively cooperate by taking advantage of the favorable business environment established in the country.

At the meeting with Tomas Ignacak, Deputy Executive Chairman of “Skoda Group,” information was provided about Azerbaijan’s economic priorities and the application of green technologies in the country. Opportunities for cooperation with “Skoda Group” and the application of the company’s experience in modern technologies in Azerbaijan were discussed.
