A round table was held with Czech businessmen
As part of Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov’s visit to the Czech Republic, a round table was held with Czech businessmen to discuss the promotion of cooperation between business communities.
Within the visit, a round table took place in Prague with the participation of Czech entrepreneurs.
Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov emphasized that relations between Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic are based on mutual trust and shared strategic priorities. It was noted that the Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership signed in 2015 is of significant importance for the development of long-term cooperation.
Economic and trade relations with the Czech Republic are developing. In the period from January to June 2025, the trade turnover between the two countries amounted to approximately 485 million US dollars.
There are broad prospects for cooperation in the field of investment. The “Agreement on the Promotion and Reciprocal Protection of Investments” signed in 2011 provides a solid legal framework for joint projects and capital flows. A total of 25 Czech companies operate in Azerbaijan in areas such as agriculture, industry, transport, construction, trade, and services.
During the meeting, the potential for effective cooperation with the Czech Republic in energy, transport, industry, trade, and other areas was highlighted. Information was provided on Azerbaijan’s favorable business and investment environment, the Alat Free Economic Zone, industrial parks, opportunities created for investors in the liberated territories, and the country’s transport and transit potential. Czech businessmen were invited to engage in active cooperation.
At the event, David Müller, Director General of the EU and Foreign Trade Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, emphasized his country’s interest in mutually beneficial cooperation with Azerbaijan. Wide opportunities for partnership in various fields were noted, including strengthening collaboration between the business communities of both countries. Czech companies expressed interest in cooperation with Azerbaijan.
The round table featured discussions on the promotion of business relations.
Presentations were delivered on the activities and products of Czech companies such as “Chemoprojekt”, “Czechoslovak Group”, “Mavel”, “Omnipol”, “Shkoda”, “TES VSETİN”, and “VSL Group Activities,” and questions were answered.
