Discussions were held in the meeting of the Minister of Economy with the representative of the Asian Development Bank on the main development challenges, socio-economic priorities of Azerbaijan, implemented joint projects and effective representation of our country in the Bank's Board of Directors.

 

Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov met with Ms. Rachel Thomson, executive director of the group of countries that includes Azerbaijan at the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

It was pointed out at the meeting that Azerbaijan attaches importance to partnership with international financial institutions, including the Asian Development Bank, and the Bank's financial and technical support to our country is highly appreciated. ADB provides support to our country within the framework of projects implemented in energy, environment, infrastructure, transit-logistics, digital development, public-private sector partnership and other directions. The Minister of Economy also informed about the National Priorities, the work done within the framework of the socio-economic development strategy in 2022-2026, the restoration and construction work carried out in our territories liberated from occupation, and emphasized the possibilities of cooperation with the Asian Development Bank in this field.

Ms. Rachel Thomson, executive director of the group of countries that includes Azerbaijan at the Asian Development Bank, expressed the interest of the institution she represents in expanding relations with our country, and noted that joint initiatives and projects will contribute to ensuring sustainable development in Azerbaijan.
