Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov met with Alisher Sultanov, adviser to the President of Uzbekistan, issues of bilateral economic cooperation, including initiatives to expand trade relations, joint investment projects, perspectives of partnership in the energy sector and other issues were discussed.

Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov emphasized in his meeting with the delegation led by Alisher Sultanov, the adviser to the President of Uzbekistan, that the heads of state attach special importance to the development of bilateral relations, and drew attention to the importance of the meetings and negotiations held.

It was pointed out that there are wide opportunities for strengthening partnership in the field of energy, transport and logistics, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, digitalization, small and medium business, industry, including the automobile industry and other areas, and the importance of developing relations between the regions of our countries was emphasized at the meeting.

It was reported that important steps were taken to implement the agreements reached at the 11th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Uzbekistan, which is an important platform for expanding relations. There was an increase of more than 63% last year in the field of trade, which is one of the main directions of economic relations. In addition, there are opportunities for expanding cooperation in the field of mutual investments, and necessary work is underway to realize these opportunities.

Alisher Sultanov, Advisor to the President of Uzbekistan stressed that his country attaches great importance to the expansion of economic relations with Azerbaijan, and shared his views on strengthening partnership in the economic field.

The parties discussed initiatives to expand trade relations, joint investment projects, prospects of partnership in the field of energy, cooperation in our liberated territories and other issues of mutual interest.
