Expanding economic ties with Uzbekistan discussed
Deputy Minister of Economy Sahib Mammadov met with First Deputy Minister of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan Azim Akhmedkhadzhaev.
The meeting emphasized the great importance attached to the expansion of economic relations between our countries, informed on the directions for the development of our relations, and opportunities for strengthening cooperation. As reported, mutual visits and meetings are of great significance in expanding cooperation in the successfully developing trade, economic and investment sphere. The Joint Intergovernmental Commission is also a convenient platform for improving partnerships. Organized business forums and business meetings contribute to the expansion of ties between business people.
In addition to expanding trade between the two countries, the meeting discussed joint exports to third countries, as well as exports of Uzbek products using the transit and transport capacities of Azerbaijan, and the possibility of participation of Azerbaijani companies in projects implemented in Uzbekistan.
Azim Akhmedkhadzhaev, First Deputy Minister of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, drew attention to the role of mutual visits and discussions in the development of regional cooperation and the establishment of new business ties, the successful work of Uzbek companies in Azerbaijan, and the significance of implementing new joint projects in various fields.
The meeting further heard the opinion of Bekhzod Usmanov, Head of Transformation Department at JSC "Uzbekneftegaz", on the possibilities of cooperation in the field of energy, especially in the field of renewable energy sources.
The sides exchanged views on the areas of development of economic ties.
