Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov met with the newly appointed non-resident Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark to Azerbaijan Danny Annan.

Mikayil Jabbarov congratulated the Ambassador for the new appointment, expressing confidence that his activities will contribute to the expansion of bilateral cooperation.

The meeting noted Azerbaijan is interested in expanding relations with Denmark and the importance of strengthening the legal and contractual framework for the development of cooperation. Stressing that trade is among the main lines of partnership between the two countries, the Minister notified that last year the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Denmark more than doubled compared to 2019, speaking of the activities of Danish multinational companies such as Carlsberg and Maersk.

The Minister of Economy informed the participants about the reforms carried out in Azerbaijan, the development of the non-oil sector and the digital economy, the National Priorities for the country's socio-economic development and invited Danish companies to take advantage of Azerbaijan's favorable business and investment environment, as well as transport and logistics potential.

Emphasizing his country's interest in expanding relations with Azerbaijan, the Ambassador Danny Annan said that in the course of his diplomatic career he would make efforts to boost economic cooperation.

The sides exchanged views on the possibilities of developing economic partnership and other issues of common concern.
