A meeting took place between the Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov and the Acting Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs Philip Reeker.

Mr. Jabbarov noted that partnership with the United States is developing in the economic, trade, industrial and other spheres, and work is underway to strengthen the legal and contractual framework to enhance bilateral economic cooperation.

The meeting highlighted the ongoing reforms in the country, national priorities and goals of the socio-economic development of Azerbaijan, as well as the importance of green economy and renewable energy projects.

The Economy Minister informed of the systemic measures taken in Azerbaijan to develop the digital economy, increase the role of small and medium-sized businesses in the economy, strengthen transport and transit potential, saying that the Azerbaijan Investment Holding was established to improve the efficiency of state-owned enterprises.

Acting Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs Philip Reeker stressed the importance of lasting peace in the region and regional development, noting the interest of American companies in rebuilding our liberated territories, especially in mine clearance.

The meeting discussed issues of expanding partnership, economic, trade, investment cooperation and other issues of mutual interest with the United States in various sectors of the economy.
