The State Service for Property Issues under the Ministry of Economy will launch large-scale field study of soil in the regions of the country in the coming months. It aims at determining the state of soils, making efficient use of municipal, privately owned and state-owned lands, studying and increasing fertility. In addition, the determination of the degree of salinization, alkalinity and erosion of soils, the implementation of control measures, the state registration (cadastre) and economic assessment of soils are also among the main tasks.

It is worthy of note that the soil study will be carried out in three stages: preparation, field and desktop study. The preparatory stage for a large-scale field research of soils collects information in advance about the name of the area where the study object is located, forms of land ownership, the area of the study site, geographic location and other information. In the course of the field study, soil maps are compiled, reflecting the nature of the soil in general, and information is obtained that allows owners to determine soil properties for the effective use of the land. At the last stage, the typological names of soils are clarified and included in the soil map on the basis of field study data and laboratory analytical figures (soil layer thickness, texture, humus, carbonation, salinization and alkalinity).

The results of the work will be posted in the Information System of the Electronic Land Cadastre and Registration.
