SCPI delegation took part in the UN Economic Commission for Europe event and Geospatial World Forum
The policy carried out by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the direction of the successful development of cooperation and enlargement of mutually favourable economic relationship between Azerbaijan and European states has played a significant role in establishing and developing cooperation with relevant entities of European countries in the field of state property management and privatisation as well as real property and land administration besides those implemented in other spheres.
In this regard, definite cooperation measures for real property and land administration have successfully been realized between the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe and the State Committee on Property Issues of the Respublic of Azerbaijan.
On May 7, 2014, the delegation of the State Committee on Property Issues of the Republic of Azerbaijan under the leadership of Mr. Karam Hasanov, Chairperson of the State Committee, participated at a meeting of the UNECE Committee on Housing and Land Management in Geneva, Switzerland. The status of implementation of the Sustainable Housing and Land Administration Strategy in the UNECE region for 2014–2020 adopted by the 74th session of this Committee held on 8 October 2013, and the draft text of the Charter on Sustainable Housing were discussed at that meeting. The official delegations and representatives of diplomatic missions of UNECE 56 member States took part in the discussions which were led by the SCPI representative who is Chair of UNECE Working Party on Land Administration. In the end, by taking into account some of the suggestions made by UNECE member States representatives attending the meeting, an amended version of of the Charter was adopted. Moreover, it was decided to organise the discussion of the draft once more with the participation of states’ representatives.
