During the meeting held at the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan with the delegation led by the Chairman of the Islamic Development Bank Group (IsDB Group), discussions have been held on the priority directions of the cooperation, joint projects and the preparation for the Annual Meetings of the Islamic Development Bank Group to be conducted in Baku in 2026.

Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov has held a meeting with the delegation led by Muhammad Sulaiman Al Jasser, the Chairman of the Islamic Development Bank Group (IsDB Group).

During the meeting, Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov highlighted that the expansion of the economic cooperation with the IsDB, as well as the projects implemented in energy, infrastructure, water supply and other areas play a significant role in the diversification of Azerbaijan’s economy and the development of the private sector. It was noted that the trade and regional integration, access to the global value chains and the stable macroeconomic environment have turned Azerbaijan into an attractive investment venue for foreign investors. It was also emphasized that the organization of the IsDB Annual Meetings in Baku will contribute to the further promotion of Azerbaijan’s investment potential on a regional and international scale.

Chairman of the IsDB Group Muhammad Sulaiman Al Jasser emphasized that the Annual Meetings are of high importance in terms of strengthening partnerships and enhancing the innovative solutions driving sustainable development in the member states of the Group. At the same time, the Annual Meetings are a critical platform for jointly discussing global challenges and identifying new opportunities for common development.

At the meeting, it was announced that the official theme of the IsDB Annual Meetings is dedicated to the “Regional Integration for Sustainable Prosperity”.

The parties also exchanged views on the preparation for the Annual Meetings of the Islamic Development Bank Group to be held in Baku in 2026 and events planned, as well as strengthening the financial partnership, and prospects for the future cooperation.

It is noteworthy that the 51st Annual Meetings of the IsDB Group will be held in Baku on June 16-19, 2026. The Ministers in charge of finance, economy and other areas, leaders of international financial institutions and the private sector, as well as representatives of international organizations will take part in the event which will play the role of a leading global platform for dialogue on development.
