An exchange of views has been held between the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and UNCTAD on the current state of international trade relations and the main trends observed in the global business environment.

Within the framework of the 13th Global Baku Forum, Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov has met with Rebeca Grynspan, the Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).

During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on global economic processes, the current state of international trade relations, and the main trends observed in the global business environment. The impact of changes occurring in the world economy on regional economic development prospects, as well as the importance of new cooperation mechanisms for the sustainable development of international trade, were emphasized.

In the course of the discussions, initiatives being implemented to diversify the country's economy, increase potential in the field of digital trade, and promote innovation-oriented development were brought to attention.

The parties exchanged views on expanding cooperation in the areas of experience sharing, capacity-building programs, and support for the innovation ecosystem.
